A semi typically runs £1,500–£4,000 and a detached £3,000–£6,000+, including removal of the old timber, new vented soffits for loft ventilation, and gutter rehang on new brackets at correct fall.
The Honest Capping-vs-Replacement Question
Some installers offer to "cap over" existing timber fascias with uPVC at £60–£90/m. This is cheaper and legitimate where the timber behind is genuinely sound and dry. But capping over rotten or damp timber traps the decay, hides it, and lets it spread - you have paid to conceal a problem, not fix it. We only recommend capping where the timber is verified sound, and we will tell you plainly when full replacement is the right call. Gutter-Only Work
